This Week's Academics
MUR -This week we will be working in our Wordly Wise books concentrating on lesson 13. The non-fiction story that goes with lesson 13 is called "Ann Frank's Diary." We continue to work on skills including retell, written and oral comprehension, and PSCMA.

This weeks spelling words are antonyms. 
 
History - On Monday we will wrap up our American Revolution unit by presenting projects. Starting Tuesday, we will begin our next science unit on chemistry. The Chemistry unit is only about a week long so we will have our quiz on the unit middle of next week. I will send home study guide questions asap!
 
Writing - This week we will be finishing working on our 6 + 1 Trait of writing IDEAS. Students are writing stories that teach a moral or big idea.Next we will move into writing biographies.
 
Read Aloud - We continue to read Treasure Island this week.

MUM -This week we will continue to work in the strand of geometry. We will focus on mean, median, mode, range, time and temperature.

Welcome Back!

This Week's Academics
MUR -This week we will be getting back into Jr. Great Books. We will be reading the story Fresh by Philippa Pearce. We will work on several skills this week to prepare students not only for the MCAs that are coming up in about a month, but also to prepare for STEP testing which will take place this Thursday and Friday. After this round of STEP testing, there will be one more round in May. 
 
History - This week we will be wrapping up our unit on The American Revolution! We will finish chapters 19-20 on Monday and Tuesday and then review Wednesday and Thursday before taking the test on Friday. 
Students received study guides the Friday before break. Feel free to email me if you need another copy.
AT HOME projects are due Monday the 19th!
