This week we are starting a poetry unit. We are working on the following skills: inference, imagery, symbolism, theme, and author's purpose. We will be working with the Wordly Wise words from lesson 13 this week. No spelling homework this week.Please check Infinite Campus grades regularly at home so you can keep up with how your child is doing in class.
In MUM...
This week we will be finishing up area and perimeter and be moving into 3-D shapes. We will learn what a face, edge and vertex are and also make 3-D shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks. Students will receive math homework on Monday that is due by Thursday this week since we do not have school Friday. This packet will contain a few basic fact worksheets and will also contain a few pages on the topic that we are working on during the week. There may also be homework that comes home during the week, of in class work is not finished in class. This work will be due the following day.

In Writing...
This week we continue to work on writing persuasive paragraphs. We will also be spending 1-2 days per week in the lab working on our typing skills. In History...
I am currently teaching Mrs. Slavik's homeroom class about the American Revolution. This week we will wrap up chapters 11-20 and take an open-book/open-packet quiz on Friday. Since it is open book there will be no review day in class.
