November 4-8

What we are doing this week:
In MUR...
No spelling homework this week, but we are still working on the long -i spelling pattern.

We will be focusing on poetry, drama and prose this week. Students will be learning about the elements of poetry, figurative language in poetry, elements of a drama, and elements of prose. We will be working on verb forms again this week.

In MUM...
Homework will be sent home Monday and due Friday. Please continue to work with your child on their basic facts at home.
This week we are starting fractions. We will kick off the unit with a review of equivalent fractions and then learn how to add and subtract fractions with like denominators.

Even if your child works 5-10 minutes a night on facts they will be successful in class each day. Thank you for your continued support at home!

In History...
This week Mrs. Roth's class will be finishing the Europe in the Middle Ages unit with Mrs. Puckett. There is a quiz on Wednesday and then students will be presenting their at home history projects on Thursday and Friday.

Projects are due Thursday!

In Writing...
'Tis the season...This week we will be working on writing holiday essays for the NYA times.

Read Aloud...
Mrs. Puckett will continue to read the book Jackie and Me by Dan Gutman.
